Die Lösung
In der poetischen Reflexion der Ereignisse nahm Brecht im Juli/August 1953 eine deutlich distanzierte Haltung der DDR-Regierung gegenüber ein, die er in den Buckower Elegien u. a. im Gedicht Die Lösung artikulierte.

Französische- und Dorotheenstädtisch-Friedrichswerderschen Friedhof Berlin
Der Französische Friedhof in der Oranienburger Vorstadt von Berlin ist ein kunsthistorisches Denkmal. Der Französische Friedhof bildet gemeinsam mit dem benachbarten Dorotheenstädtisch-Friedrichswerderschen Friedhof das bedeutendste erhaltene und noch genutzte Friedhofsensemble Berlins aus dem 18. Jahrhundert. Auf dem Friedhof sind Beispiele klassizistischer Grabmalkunst des 19. Jahrhunderts zu finden. Der Zugang befindet sich in der Chausseestraße Nr. 126.

Amsterdam, Artzuid 2011
In Amsterdam South, Apollo and Minervalaan, a 10 minutes walk from the Museum-square, a compelling open-air sculpture exhibition is on view until August 28. The exhibition is curated by Jan Cremer and includes works by Jan Fabre, Jean Tinguely, Karel Appel, Riyas Komu, Ugo Rondinone, Thomas Houseago, Silvie Fleury and many others. ARTZUID 2011 vindt plaats van 27 mei tot en met 28 augustus 2011. In samenwerking met Amsterdamse instellingen, zoals het Stedelijk Museum en de Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten presenteert vooraanstaand schrijver en kunstenaar Jan Cremer zijn sculpturale – THE WORLD AROUND, EQUALITY IN DIVERSITY. Wederom vormen de monumentale lanen van Plan-Zuid van architect H.P. Berlage en de in de jaren negentig ontworpen plantsoenen van landschapsarchitect Michael van Gessel het unieke podium voor 50 beelden van internationaal gerenommeerde kunstenaars. De sculpturen worden getoond in het decor van de bijzondere architectuur van de Amsterdamse School. De route wordt verlengd naar de Zuidas.
Jan Cremer confronteert de Europese beeldhouwkunst met werken van kunstenaars uit onder andere de Verenigde Staten, Brazilië, Suriname, India, China, Zuid-Afrika, Indonesië en Japan. Cremer toont lef en maakt van Amsterdam tijdelijk een echte ’GLOBAL CITY of SCULPTURES’ met onder meer kunstwerken van Anthony Caro, Yayoi Kusama, Auguste Rodin, Jean Tinguely, Niki de Saint Phalle, Jean Arp, Antony Gormley, Salvador Dali en Subodh Gupta. Westerse en niet-Westerse kunst wordt op een gelijkwaardige wijze tentoongesteld.
De beeldenroute is gratis toegankelijk. De route is gelegen op 5 minuten lopen van het Museumplein. Bij de infodesk voor het Hilton Hotel is een routekaart beschikbaar. Een wandeling langs alle beelden duurt circa 2,5 uur. Een speciale iPhone audiotour is ontwikkeld, die vanaf 26 mei te downloaden in de Apple App Store. Ook is deze App bij de infopost op de route te downloaden.

Museum Dr. Guislain Gent
At Museum Dr. Guislain there is the permanent collection on the evolution of psychiatry and the collection of Outsider Art. Since 2002 this Art collection includes the former collection De Stadshof. The temporary exhibition ‘The weighty body – Fat or thin, vanity or insanity’ will be on view through May 8. A visit to this museum is very much worth while and is an excellent exercise in humbleness. Feb. 2011, Anton K.

Düsseldorf, Auswertung der Flugdaten
„Auswertung der Flugdaten“ at K21 is an arresting exhibition reflecting on art in the 80-es from a Düsseldorfer perspective.
The Düsseldorfer art scene with the Art Academy in the centre has been a major influence in the development of art since the sixties. Beuys, Becher, Struth, Gursky, Ruff, Spoerri, Broodthaers, Richter, Immendorf; there seems to be no end to the list of illustrious names that are linked to Düsseldorf and to the Academy. This exhibition which is curated by Julian Heynen and Valeria Liebermann, demonstrates convincingly the quality of the art that emerged from the Düsseldorfer scene and from the (art) spirit of the 80-es. Artists include Thomas Ruff, Andreas Gursky, Thomas Schutte, Ludger Gerdes, Isa Genzken and Reinhard Mucha with a brilliant installation.
