Een uitgelezen expositie voor liefhebbers van prent-schilderkunst én literatuur. Een grenzeloze gedachtewereld in ‘bibliotheken’ ontdekken, en asgrauw leeskijken of dagdromen bij landschappen. Kortweg: genieten. Zo omschrijft het Breda’s Museum haar tentoonstelling ‘Jan de Bie, Boekenlandschappen’. Jan de Bie is niet zelf te gast maar wel kunstfilosoof Harry van Boxtel. Hij is niet alleen goed bevriend met Jan de Bie, maar kent zijn werk als geen ander. Zo schreef hij ook de tekst van de catalogus bij de tentoonstelling. Beiden werkten ook samen bij een project, dat ook te zien is in het museum. Ze maakten samen het kunstboek: ‘Papieren en notulen van de Asgrauwe’. Het zijn de hilarische notulen en correspondentie van een gefingeerde duivensportvereniging, prachtig en zeer uitgebreid geïllustreerd door Jan de Bie.
