Bologna

In deze doolhof lonken gewaden en welgevulde tafels,
stutten oude torens stutten geduldig wolken. In schaduw

ervan trekt wind rafels morgen door arcaden, bewonen
duiven zilvergrijs daken in ruwe rust. Hier doopte

Dante zorgelijk zijn ganzenpen in verse inkt, neuriede hij
metten mee, zich wijs bewust van honger naar geboortegrond.

Er lopen jonge vrouwen over straten met lachjes die vermoeden
doen dat zij geloven dat poppen kunnen praten.

Van luister en gefluister is de Via de Poeti nimmer vrij,
zoals een tram nooit los is van zijn sporen. Een zucht.

Dan smelt traag laatste sneeuw alom in warme stralen. Van zon,
ja: daar glijdt van bergen af de lente o, Bologna. Kijk!
