L’Enfant Maudit

Je pèse sur mon lit, maman, et tout ce que j’endosse
est comme brûlé le soir; je sais que cela t’étonne
ma veste qui s’en va quand tu la brosses
et la culotte d’hier qui n’est plus bonne.

Et dis, pourquoi me faut-il tant de ruse
pour te sourire à toi qui n’est pas morte.
Mes yeux me semblent lourds: Est-ce que j’use
trame de la vie. Est-elle plus forte

autour des autres? Est-ce que je déchire
les jours trop minces par mon sang trop brusque?
Ferais-je mal aux pauvres choses jusque
lans mon sommeil qui en colère m’attire?
