Ut dixit Gráinne ingen Chormaic fri Finn:

Fil duine

frismad buide lemm díuterc,

ara tabrinn in mbith mbuide

huile, huile, cid díupert.

 

Zoals Gráinne, de dochter van Cormac, zei tegen Finn:

Er is een man

die ik zou willen zien,

voor wie ik de gouden aarde geven zou,

alles, alles, al was het voor niets.
