Re-opening of the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam
Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam
March 30, 2012
After more than 9 years the blundering of the administration of Amsterdam has finally come to an end with the re-opening of the Stedelijk Museum on September 23, 2012. At last we can stop moaning about the absence of what used to be one of the leading museums of modern and contemporary art in the world. It will be interesting to see how the renovated museum re-positions in a museum landscape that has significantly changed in the last decade. At a five minute walk from the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, the number of visitors will not be a decisive parameter in re-ranking its importance.
