Die Fensterschau

 

Der bleiche Heinrich ging vorbei,

Schoen Hedwig lag am Fenster.

Sie sprach halblaut: Gott steh mir bei,

Der unten schaut bleich wie Gespenster!

 

Der unten erhub sein Aug in die Hoeh,

Hinschmachtend an Hedewigs Fenster.

Schoen Hedwig ergriff es wie Liebesweh,

Auch sie ward bleich wie Gespenster.

 

Schoen Hedwig stand nun mit Liebesharm

Tagtaeglich lauernd am Fenster.

Bald aber lag sie in Heinrichs Arm,

Allnaechtlich zur Zeit der Gespenster.
