Hadewijch: Om grote minne

H a d e w i j c h

(ca. 1200-1250)

Om grote minne

in hoghe ghedachte

Om grote minne in hoghe ghedachte

Willic wesen al minen tijt,

Want si mi met hrer groter crachte

Mine nature maect so wijt,

Dat ic mijn wesen al verpachte

In die hoghe gheboert van haren gheslachte.

Alse ic wil nemen vri delijt,

So werpt si mi in hare hachte.

Ic waent wel liden sonder scade,

Dat ic in minnen dus ben bevaen,

Wiltsi mi alle die nauste pade

Van haren weghe doen verstaen.

Alsic mi wane rusten in hare ghenade,

Verstormt si mi met nuwen rade.

Dits een wonderlijc verslaen:

Sosi meer mint, sosi meer lade.

Dit es wonder groet te verstane,

Der minnen nemen ende hare gheven.

Alsi mi gheeft troest te ontfane,

So werdet vruchten ende beven.

Der minnen biddic ende mane,

Dat si die edele herten spane

Dat si in minnen toene dus bleven

In nederen twivele, in hoghen wane.

Troest ende meslone in enen persoen,

Dats wesen vander minnen smake.

Al levede die wise Salamoen,

Hi liet te ontbindene so hoghe sake.

Wine werdens berecht in gheen sermoen:

Die sanc verhoghet allen toen.

Die tijt daer ic altoes na hake

Hevet in hem selven noch den loen.

Haken, merren, beiden langhe

Na dien tijt die selve es minne,

Doet versmaden vremde ghemanghe

Ende toent verliese ende grote ghewinne.

Fierheit raedt mi dat ic hanghe

So vaste in minnen, dat ic bevanghe

Een wesen boven alle sinne:

Die toen verhoghet alle sanghe.

Die toen die alle sanghe verhoghet,

Die meinic: minne in hare ghewout.

Ic segs een luttel, en doech ghetoghet

Den vremden herten die sijn cout

Ende cleine om minne hebben ghedoghet.

Sine weten niet, dat minne vertoghet

Hare rike den fieren die sijn stout

Ende in die minne werden ghesoghet.

Ghewout van minnen die al verwint

Die es te verstane onghehoert,

Ende bi in dole ende verre bekint,

Ende een vrede die alle vreden stoert:

Den vreden dien men in minnen ghewint
